Goin Home

The road is lonely
And much too long
How I ache to be there
Home sweet home.

Somehow time has faded it all.

Like a distant memory
I can't quite recall.

Goin home to the distant sounds
Though I wandered far
It could never be found.

Those old scents and sensories
Tucked back in my mind
I regret how I parted
and left it behind.

Goin home where my heart never left
And it is there where I'll take
my final breath.
